Emersyn Novach’s dance journey began in Rochester, Michigan where she spent her early childhood years. At three years old, she joined various recreational dance classes which included ballet, tap, jazz, and hip-hop. Emersyn traveled regionally throughout Michigan and out of state for annual national dance competitions. In 2016, she moved to South Carolina and joined a new studio that had a more rigorous weekly dance training schedule. She began participation in the local SC Arts Center talent shows and was the recipient of several scholarships towards dance education. Emersyn worked ahead on-line to graduate high school one year early to fast-track her passion for dance. She was accepted into The Boston Conservatory for Contemporary Dance at seventeen years old. During her tenure, under the esteemed dance faculty, Emersyn has worked closely in residencies with world-renowned guest artists- Ken Ossola, Andrew Skeels, Gustavo Ramirez Sansano, Omar Román de Jesús, Da’Rius Malon, and Ruka White. As part of Arts Umbrella’s summer dance intensive, she also worked in residency with Francisco Martinez/Rafael Sady. Alongside her dance training and performance career, Emersyn worked eight years with Tremaine Dance Conventions, where she assisted master choreographers like Keri LaGrand, Derrick Schrader, Christina Grady, Tiffany Maher, and Emily Zachary. While being part of the Tremaine faculty, she assisted with class training in all dance styles, she worked backstage during competitions and performed in the faculty closing shows. Emersyn is also passionate about dance pedagogy. Over the last 3 years, she has been teaching in Guanacaste, Costa Rica at a local studio. She has taught summer master class and winter intensives as well as solo artist choreographing. Emersyn continues to spread the joy of dance to local young artists while being in Costa Rica.
